He/Him
I am gay and I am an assistant professor of plant evolutionary biology. //
I am an Assistant Professor of Plant Evolution in the Biology Department at San Francisco State University. My research focus is biodiversity and evolution on Pacific-centered plant lineages, biogeography of plants in the Australian monsoon tropics, and most recently focused on conservation genetics of rare plants in the California Floristic Province. Generally, I am interested in evolutionary factors that have influenced historical biogeography and promoted biodiversity. Outside of my academic research, I am an advocate for diversity in STEM and a queer voice in strong support the LGBTQ experience in science.
