I am queer and I am a PhD student in developmental and psychological sciences.//
I am from Albuquerque, NM and pursuing my PhD at Stanford on a Knight-Hennessy Scholarship. Previously, I graduated from Brown University with an Sc.B. in Cognitive Neuroscience and from Columbia University with an MS in Neuroscience & Education as a QuestBridge and Gates Millennium Scholar. I am broadly interested in researching how our experiences and environments affect brain development and learning. Additionally, as someone born and raised in poverty, it is deeply important to me to forge opportunities for people historically excluded from science. This motivated me to create FLi Sci, an initiative to recruit and retain students from low-income or first-generation college backgrounds interested in research careers.
