They/Them

I am queer and I am a research assistant.//

I recently completed my undergrad at San Francisco State University where I researched fitness costs associated with drug resistance mutations in HIV. This is where I was introduced to using computational methods to investigate biological questions at a molecular level and I’ve been hooked ever since! I am a Bioinformatics Research Assistant at the Carnegie Institute for Science in the Department of Plant Biology. Primarily, I work on the Neuroplant project which aims to identify secondary plant metabolites that may be useful in treating neurological disorders. In addition to doing really cool research, I am motivated to use my platform as a scientist and researcher to increase diversity within STEM.
