I am gay and I am a nematologist.//
I have always been passionate about nature from a very young age, so studying Biological Sciences was a no-brainer. I obtained my BSc in Biology-Geology from the University of Minho (PT) in 2014 and my MSc in Ecology from the same university in 2016, specializing in Plant Nematology.
I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Évora (PT), carrying out my thesis at the Nematology laboratory of the National Institute for Agrarian and Veterinary Research (PT), where I’m exploring the biological control potential of several fungi against the pinewood nematode, a quarantine organism that is ravaging native pine trees in Portugal.
