He/Him

I am gay and I am an immunologist.//

I am gay and very open-mided polish scientist doing his PhD at Imperial College London, disecting the role of innate immunity in Early life lung infection. After graduating from the University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska, and achieving a master’s degree (MSc) in Virology and Immunology, I moved to the UK where I was working as a research technician/research assistant with Prof. Roberto Solari, the Respiratory Diseases Section, NHLI at Imperial College London. Roberto Solari’s research was on the interaction between human Rhinovirus and the host cell in particular how the virus hijacks the cellular ER and Golgi membranes in order to replicate. The aim was to discover novel targets to allow the development of anti-viral drugs. In 2016, I was awarded prestigious PhD studentship from the MRC-Asthma UK Center in Allergic Mechanisms of Asthma- UK dedicated center of excellence in asthma research. This scholarship allowed me to do master research (MRes) in biomedical studies and experience the most vibrant research environment working in different laboratories of ICL. I am currently doing my PhD at Imperial College London with Dr Fiona Culley and Prof. Peter Openshaw on the role of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in mucosal inflammation and airway remodelling in paediatric viral bronchiolitis.
