I am queer and I am a microbial ecologist. //
I graduated with a Master of Science studying the influence of salt marsh restoration on bacterial and fungal communities over time and space. As a graduate student at Northeastern University’s Marine Science I held two fulfilling roles: President of the Graduate Student Association and Graduate Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. These roles allowed me to provide academic and professional support for graduate students and, alongside faculty, start enacting institutional change to better serve first generation, underrepresented minority, and underserved students. I plan to continue this work in the future.
