He/Him
I am queer and trans and I am an ecological physiologist. //
I research intersections of behavior, physiology, morphology, and ecology of reptiles, focusing on plant-eating lizards. I’m currently finishing my PhD at UC Irvine. I completed my masters at CSU Northridge and my bachelors at UC Davis. In my teaching and research, I use queer concepts to critique oppression and challenge assumed knowledge. I have conducted research and fieldwork in the USA, France, Croatia, Panama, and Ecuador. While I am generally very out about my queerness, I am continually conflicted about how to negotiate the world as a trans scientist. My lab mates want me to include that I am a supplier of lab chocolate stashes and a knitter.
