I’m queer and nonbinary, and I am a physicist. //
My background is in engineering physics and material science. I am a staff member at the American Physical Society working on social justice programming for the physics community and will return to graduate school to study Physics Education Research. I have been out professionally as both queer and nonbinary since the final year of my undergraduate career. I firmly believe that we cannot separate any part of ourselves from our science, and so we must embrace those aspects instead. In my free time, I mentor transgender and queer youth and facilitate workshops and support groups within the queer, STEM, and medieval recreation communities.
